The only way to stop illegal downloading and copyright violations is through legislation and actually, Canadian laws aren't sufficient or almost non-existent to counter this situation. The Bill C-32 is a front made by the Conservative Party to coax the big shots of music industry and solve an embarrassing cultural issue by concluding too hastily on important clauses.
As a musician, I don't want my future to be destroyed by the collapse of copyrights. Our own culture is endangered by a bill that is supposed to modernize the actual Copyright Act; it is, in fact, secretly neglecting evidences and abandonning millions of dollars that are deliberately destined to artists.
Let sign this petition circulating at the House of Commons, to modify the Bill C-32, a bill that benefit the industry to the detriment of artists and creators:
